Hello love,

I have a confession to make: I planned to come back to business sooner.

Shortly before my dad passed last summer, I told my husband and kids I was ready for more. That while I loved homeschooling, I didn’t feel fulfilled doing just that. That I had more to share with the world and wanted to make my own money again.

To my surprise, everyone quickly agreed. So I set the date: July 15th. That would be my official return to business.

My dad passed on July 2nd. And still, I kept the date. I wanted to live my life to the fullest.

I had a plan. A clear one. I knew what I would offer, what I would write about, how I would communicate. All I had to do was take action.

On July 15th, I got up at 5 AM, sat at my computer… and stared at the screen for three hours.

I wasn’t ready.

I’m sharing this because if you ever find yourself not taking action, even when you have the time, the clarity, and the strategy, I want you to give yourself grace.

Not moving forward doesn’t mean you’re incapable or unfit to run a business.

Often, it means something deeper is asking for your attention.

There’s an emotional weight, a blockage holding you back, making you doubt, keeping you small.

The way forward isn’t through more strength and discipline. It’s through gently uncovering the pain, bringing it to light, and allowing healing.

What we call “shadow work” isn’t about fixing yourself, it’s about seeing yourself. And when you dare to look, you finally feel seen.

I needed time to grieve my dad, of course. But that wasn’t the only grief I carried.

I also had to grieve the past versions of myself that no longer fit. I needed to find solid ground within before I could step forward again.

And if you’re in a place where action feels impossible, maybe that’s what you need, too.
