Hello love,
This morning, I logged into Asana to check on client work and progress.
I accidentally entered my old email address, and up popped a to-do list from 2018.
One of the tasks said: What the fuck is my niche?
And just like that, all the memories of past struggle and self-doubt came rushing back.
I could feel the tension in my body, my heart beating faster, my stomach tightening… I remembered what it felt like to not know what I was doing. The pressure I was putting on myself to figure it out, and fast!
Then I took a deep breath… and smiled.
Not because I’ve figured it all out. In fact, I regularly put a lot of things in question.
But now, I know three things:
- We all have an inner compass that’s constantly guiding us toward our truest path. So we can’t really get it wrong.
- Everything is temporary. We are ever-evolving, and so are the foundations of our business: our niche, our audience, our strategy, even the shape of what we offer. Trying to get it “perfect” is a trap, and a waste of time.
- Following your joy is a valid strategy. It’s not actually that hard to figure out what to do, who to serve, and why it matters—if you follow your joy.
Joy as a northern star is underrated for us sensitive women.
We’ve often been told to mold ourselves into what the world expects.
To play the good girl, the hard worker, the responsible one.
To tend to everyone else’s needs before even considering doing what lights us up.
But it’s in that joy that the answers live.
So my question for you today, dear one, is this:
What would change in your business if you only followed your joy? How does that shift your perspective?
Power and light,
Jessica
