I'm sorry for failing

Hello love,

Isn’t it crazy that what we sensitive entrepreneurs fear the most… is the one thing we can’t avoid?

Failure.

We've all failed, in so many ways.

We've made mistakes, taken wrong turns, miscalculated how long things would take.

We've launched, and flopped.

We've spoken about our offers and sometimes heard only our own echo in return.

We've put ourselves last.

We've waited too long (or forever) to delegate.

We've priced things wrong. Trusted the wrong people. Gotten attached. To results, platforms, validation... And lost sight of what actually mattered.

You and I both know this truth: Failure in business and in life is inevitable.

And it's also one of the richest source of growth, clarity and wisdom we'll ever get.

Why is it, then, that we keep feeling so much shame around our failures?

The other day, I was rehearsing a discovery call with a new copywriting client.

And I heard myself apologising...

  • For taking a 2-year-break from business,
  • For burning out.
  • For quitting my language business before it reached 6 figures.

As if those things were shameful. As if they disqualified me.

That's when I realised that what we need to overcome failure isn't just a quick band-aid mantra for the brain that says "failing is a learning opportunity".

We need deep healing.

There's no bypassing the body's truth. No quote however beautiful can replace what hasn't been felt...

We need to name the sadness. Let out the disappointment. Grieve the version of ourselves that didn't know better. Or didn't love us better.

For me that looks like writing to my past self.

Dancing with her, to let my body process and express.

Letting her speak. Giving her compassion.

Forgiving her for what she didn't know yet.

Because only then can I move forward.

Power and light,

Jessica
